running into kangaroos

While running Nate yelled out and I looked up to see this guy. Nate almost ran right into him.

This is about 2 miles from town near the telegraph station. There are a few trails along and around the Todd river that lead to the station. Today we ran to this cemetery. Of the two cross head stones in this photo, one may belong to Edward Brookes who died in 1889. The other grave belongs to William Lamb who died in 1892.

This wall has been in place since at least 1901... probably longer.

Here he is again.

This is one of 7 or 8 kangaroos we saw today.

A panoramic photo of nothing and everything. Taken from a hill that was a survey spot a hundred years ago.

This photo is less spontaneous than it looks.

So... this has nothing to do with the rest of the post... except I might be at that stage of culture shock where things that are different from what I am accustomed to irritate me.
I went to a Bakery this week and ordered a few meat pies and a chocolate muffin. When I got home I found a chocolate glazed doughnut. I know that biscuit means cookie, but I since when has muffin meant doughnut. I liked Nate's response when I told him the story. He said, "That's bull crap".
